ETUSD is excited to announce that with the State moving Kern County into the Red Tier, students will

begin in-person instruction two days a week beginning

 Monday, November 2nd

 ·         Students will be split into two groups.  Group A will attend on Mon/Wed, and Group B will attend on Tues/Thurs.

·         All students will continue to participate in distance learning the other 3 days through the Canvas platform.

·         Specific groups will be assigned next week.

All students returning to school will have their temperature taken each morning before entering the campus, will practice social distancing, proper hygiene, and wear a mask while at school.  Face shields will also be provided for students. All classrooms, buses, and other areas of the school will be cleaned and disinfected on a regular basis.  All desks will also have clear, protective barriers, which will be sprayed with Aegis Microb Shield (which prohibits the COVID virus from living on the surface) to give an additional layer of protection.  The Aegis Microb Shield will also be sprayed in all buses.

ETUSD is asking that if you are able to transport your child to and from school in order to help with social distancing on the buses for students who do not have their own transportation, please consider doing so.  J

If you would like your child to continue to participate in distance learning only, please let your child’s school office know by Oct 21st as spaces are limited for this program.

ETUSD’s full Distance Learning program moving forward will use Edmentum On-line courses.  Students will have contact once a week with a distance learning teacher to help ensure the student is staying on course with weekly assignments.  Kinder – 5th grade students will participate in On-line Calvert courses, and 6th – 12th grade students will participate in On-line PLATO courses.  Both programs are standards aligned and offered through Edmentum On-line curriculum.
