School Site Council

What is a School Site Council (SSC)?

The Site Council (SSC) is a governing body established in accordance with California Education Code, comprising elected representatives from the school community, including teachers, other staff, parents, and an administrator(s). The SSC is responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating the school’s Single Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA). Additionally, the SSC is authorized to approve the school’s Comprehensive Safety Plan.

Through regular meetings and open communication, SSC members ensure that the school is held accountable for providing a high-quality education and a safe learning environment for all students. During these meetings, community members are encouraged to provide input and participate in SSC discussions, sharing their perspectives and concerns to inform the decision-making process. However, only elected members of the SSC have the authority to vote on decisions.
