Our school finally marked a major milestone—the 100th day of school—with a fun-filled celebration that showcased students’ creativity and enthusiasm. While we weren’t able to celebrate on the actual day due to snow closures, the excitement and anticipation only grew.
Kindergartners took center stage, dressing up as their “older selves” and creating colorful necklaces made from 100 Fruit Loops. The students also brought in a variety of items from home to represent the number 100, such as 100 Cheerios, 100 stickers, 100 blocks, and more.
But the celebration didn’t stop with the kindergartners! Students of all ages joined in on the fun, with many dressing up as if they were 100 years old. Gray hair, glasses, and vintage clothing were just a few of the creative ways students showed off their “older” look.
The kindergartners then embarked on a school-wide tour, visiting the office and various classrooms to proudly show off their creations and collections. They eagerly shared their understanding of the number 100 with their peers and teachers. Some teachers even joined in on the fun, dressing up and participating in the activities. The 100th day of school celebration was a wonderful way to mark this significant milestone, promoting learning, numeracy skills, and school spirit.
As one student exclaimed, “I love celebrating the 100th day of school! It’s so much fun counting up to 100 and being with my friends!”
And in a hilarious moment, another student approached Mr. McNelis, the principal, and declared, “You’re 100!”—leaving everyone in stitches.
It’s moments like these that remind us of the incredible school spirit that makes our school so special. From students to teachers, everyone came together to make this celebration one to remember!
