100 Years Strong: Fall Festival Brings Together Students, Staff, and Community

Our annual Fall Festival was a spectacular celebration that brought together students, staff, and the community for an unforgettable evening of fun and merriment. The event was a huge success thanks to the tireless efforts of our PTSO, volunteers, and staff, as well as the generous support of our local community businesses.

We would like to extend a special thank you to the following businesses for their donations:

  • Beale Mobile Feed Store
  • Tecuya Feed
  • Bear Claw Bakery
  • Jody Valmassy Artist (Face Painting)
  • Adventure Ink
  • Frazier Park Market
  • Twin Oaks Property Management
  • Caveman Cavey Pizza
  • Tacos Jimenez

Their contributions helped make the festival a success and are a testament to the strength of our community.

The festival featured a wide range of exciting activities including games, surprises, a bouncy tent, and delicious food from the taco truck that served up tasty treats. Students had a blast playing at various game booths, winning candy prizes and enjoying the decorated classroom pumpkins generously donated by Frazier Park Market. The bake sale was a sweet treat for all, with a big “thank you” to all the bakers who contributed.

The middle school’s FFA provided invaluable support, with a special “thank you” to Principal Corey Hansen for her exceptional leadership in organizing her students to help run the games and activities. Their enthusiasm and hard work were instrumental in making the festival a success!

The evening also featured a 50/50 raffle, with the lucky winner taking home $142. The silent auction was a highlight, with parents donating items based on themes assigned to each grade level. These donations were then crafted into exciting baskets, and anyone could bid on them, adding to the thrill and excitement.

The pièce de résistance was a heartfelt speech by Mrs. Sara Haflich, district superintendent, who proudly recognized our district’s 100-year milestone of teaching the mountain youth. Her inspiring words took us on a journey from the first schoolhouse. to the present day, celebrating our rich history and community spirit.

As we mark this significant anniversary, we express our deepest gratitude to our PTSO, volunteers, students, staff, and community for making this Fall Festival an unforgettable celebration. Here’s to many more years of excellence and community spirit! Happy 100th, El Tejon Unified School District!
