Miss Mace’s Kindergartners celebrated a major milestone – filling their gem jar to the brim! This impressive feat was a direct result of their outstanding behavior, demonstrating kindness, respect, and responsibility in class. As a well-deserved reward, they got to wear their favorite pajamas to school.
The fun didn’t stop there! In the STEAM lab, the students created palm trees and challenged themselves to put as many Legos on them as possible. To make it more engaging, they connected it to their literacy lesson by reading “Chicka, Chicka, ABC” and “Chicka, Chicka, Words.” They pretended that each Lego represented a word or letter, adding an extra layer of learning to their activity. Working in groups, they collaborated to see how many “words” they could add to their palm trees. Their record-breaking tree held an impressive 32 Legos!
In math class, the students learned a new strategy to help them with math equations: the number line. To help them understand how to use the number line, they used miniature ducks to hop to each number. This interactive approach made learning fun and engaging.
It was a day filled with learning, laughter, and lots of fun! Miss Mace’s Kindergartners proved that even in their pajamas, they can still be their amazing selves.
