Recently in Saturday school, Miss Mace’s class dove into the amazing world of the human heart. Students discovered the heart’s vital role in circulating blood—pumping oxygen-rich blood through the arteries and bringing oxygen-depleted blood back through the veins.
To see the heart in action, students got moving! They ran around the school and performed calisthenics, experiencing firsthand how exercise helps get the blood flowing and keeps the heart strong. The lesson continued with a “Mystery Science” video that explained how the heart works, followed by a creative activity where students colored and labeled the human heart to identify its location in the body.
It was a day full of learning, movement, and fun—all while gaining a deeper appreciation for one of the body’s most important organs!
