Kindergartners in Mrs. Dominguez’s class recently wrapped up an engaging apple-themed unit, blending science, language, and math skills in a fun and interactive way. The students explored the life cycle and parts of apples, developing their vocabulary through hands-on labeling activities. Through creative projects, such as name crafts and torn-paper apple art, these young learners refined their fine motor skills. Science experiments sparked curiosity as they predicted whether apples would sink or float and participated in a taste test, describing their favorite flavors.
The unit also incorporated math skills, as students analyzed their preferences by sorting Fruit Loops on graphs. “This unit sparked curiosity and fostered a love for learning,” said Mrs. Dominguez. “Watching my students grow academically and personally is truly rewarding.”
