Our campus recently transformed into a lively carnival of numbers, curiosity, and hands-on learning during our math faire, and what a celebration it was!
Students rotated through a variety of math stations created by our amazing teachers, each one designed to get kids thinking, moving, and problem-solving in different ways. At some stations, students tackled engaging math challenges. At others, they played games where strategy and number sense were key. One favorite stop had students using their observation skills to estimate how many marbles were hidden in jars—sparking some great discussions (and plenty of enthusiastic guesses!).
Around the event space, students also participated in interactive data posters. They placed colored dots to answer fun survey questions like “What’s your favorite ice cream flavor?”, “What’s your favorite sport?”, and “What’s your favorite color?” As the dots piled up, students were able to see real-time data in action and make connections to what they’ve been learning in class.
We were also thrilled to welcome parents who joined in on the fun. Many stopped by stations and even took on some of the math challenges themselves. It was a great reminder that math isn’t just something students do at school—it’s part of everyday life for all of us.
A huge thank you goes to Ms. Griffin, who coordinated the entire event and brought the carnival theme to life in such a fun and engaging way. Her creativity and organization helped make the Math Faire a truly memorable experience for students, staff, and families alike.
Most importantly, the day showed our students just how powerful—and fun—math can be. From games and guessing to data and discovery, the Math Faire helped bring learning to life under the big top.
