Project-Based Learning Brings Learning to Life in Mrs. Bloom’s 4th Grade Class

Project-Based Learning (PBL) has transformed the way students in Mrs. Bloom’s 4th grade class engage with content, collaborate with one another, and take ownership of their learning. Rather than simply memorizing facts or completing worksheets, students are now creating meaningful projects that demonstrate a deeper understanding of what they’ve learned.

Most recently, students explored place value in math by designing and building their own dodecahedrons—a hands-on and creative way to review key concepts from the unit and prepare for their summative test. This project encouraged critical thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork, all while making math both visual and fun.

That is just the beginning! Throughout the year, Mrs. Bloom’s class will take on a variety of exciting projects, including collaborative Canva posters, social studies quadro-ramas, mobile book report dioramas for novel studies, and an animal adaptations museum in science. Each project gives students a unique opportunity to connect learning across subjects and showcase their creativity.
