Teachers Dive Into STEAM: A Professional Development Day with Mrs. Renee Wells

As our school continues to expand science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM) opportunities, our teachers recently participated in a hands-on professional development afternoon with none other than Mrs. Renee Wells — a true STEAM guru!

Mrs. Wells, who meets once a week as part of our extended learning opportunities offered to students, guided staff through creative and engaging ways to make the most of our STEAM lab. She shared valuable lesson plans and resources designed specifically for each grade level, helping teachers infuse critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration into their daily instruction.

These lessons go beyond simple culminating projects — they help students connect concepts, explore real-world applications, and think like innovators throughout their learning journey.

The afternoon was filled with energy, laughter, and plenty of “aha!” moments as teachers experimented, collaborated, and discovered new ways to bring STEAM to life in their classrooms.

We’re grateful to Mrs. Wells for sharing her expertise and for inspiring our staff to keep creativity and curiosity at the heart of learning!
